Look at any gathering of ages 8 to 38 and you’ll see planned adolescence in the flesh. And, faintly in the background, the laughter of entire ranks of those who devise and supply digital addictions.

A better design would have an electronic bot / video game interface, probably using either a wired or wireless connection instead of mechanical devices.
However, the bot designers probably wanted it to play existing games that lacked such an interface.
