“So I was sitting in my sled doing absolutely nothing, and my mom told me the phone was ringing. I picked it up and immediately heard a voice that loudly said, “WHY AREN’T YOU AT THE LIBRARY?”
Been there, done that! Schools should never force kids to do joint projects, especially when they know they’re pairing an idiot/slacker with a kid who’s smart and takes school seriously. It drags down a kid who didn’t deserve it.
Who said Calvin’s binge TV-watching was useless? See his amazing diction and public speaking skills… though sadly not of much help for a class project involving the planet Mercury… :D
I always hated those “paired” projects. Especially when there were more than 2 kids. Sometimes we had groups of 3 or 4. One or two people did all the work and the others got a good grade for doing virtually nothing.
In high school speech class, my partner & I had Egyptian mummies as our topic. Eventually, I was just making up stuff & the teacher asked me if I was being factual. I said yes & we both got A’s.
1, After doing all the illustrations my partner tried to tell me my penmanship is better than his, I should do the lettering too. I told him I didn’t care how bad his penmanship was, he ended up doing the lettering.
2, Debate team, me and my partner facing 2 slacker opponents, the subject was Open campus/closed campus. We were to argue for closed campus. They thought they had it made since most everyone wanted open campus, and lost 32 to 1.

Yes it is her fault. She had plenty of time to deck him.

She should take her seat and heckle him.

You’d think the mythology of Mercury would be right up Calvin’s alley…
phredturner about 7 years ago
If only he hadn’t lost Spaceman Spiff’s field notes and drawings from his actual trips to Mercury

What a dog I got, his favorite bone is in my arm.
When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.
When I was a kid my parents moved a lot, but I always found them.
When I was born I was so ugly the doctor slapped my mother!

Susie should get an A and Calvin, well, the usual.

Susie’s heckle: “Hey, funny boy, what were you doing before you became an undertaker?”
cheryl.johns63 about 7 years ago
I hope Miss Wormwood grades them separately.

I’ve got 2 slacker partner stories.
Even one of the two on that team voted for us.
