I am just heading to bed, but wanted to share something before I go.

My oldest living sister sent me a box of Christmas gifts back in November. I opened one for my birthday, and am saving the rest for Christmas Day.

The gift I opened is something my sister designed and made for me herself (you can’t buy these in stores). It occurred to me that, I have a camera now, I should take a picture and share this with people I care about.

That’s the backyard cat? Naah, it couldn’t be.

This heroic act by Elvis reminded me of when one of my 3 kitties was a hero a year ago. Another of them, who was 21 years old and frail, had fallen between my bed and wall in the middle of the night. His voice was weak in his old age so I never would’ve heard him cry, but Athena came to the rescue – meowing by my head in a special way she only normally does when she know’s i’m sick, causing me to awaken and immediately know there was something wrong and save grandpa (who went on to almost make it to 22).

I got a check in the mail from my electric company (one of the benefits of a co-op), and that (combined with what I had already had in the bank plus a certificate from Hope4Paws) gives me enough to pay to have her spayed and have $8 left for the rest of the month.

So, Sooti goes in to the vets this afternoon. When I called them, they told me that the price includes overnight, and I figured that, if they were going to charge me for that anyway, I might as well take advantage of it. This also means I don’t have to worry about getting up early enough to drop her off in the morning.

I signed up just so I could tell you how pretty that is.

Come on, Man! Get there faster! We all know what’s going on, why don’t you? Haven’t you been reading along with us? Hurry up and save Tommy!
