BD, be happy! In 1990 we thought our side had won the Cold War.

Not to worry. Uncle Vlad will restore order.

Poor Russians. Centuries of the czars, then the Communists, then the kleptocrats. The occasional glimmer of hope with Kerensky and Gorbachev, only to be crushed shortly thereafter by another round of tyrants. And yet they gave us Tolstoy, Tschaikovsky, and Solzhenitsyn.

And THIS right here is why Doonesbury needs to be a daily. We NEED this kind of thought right now. Trudeau, come out of retirement, at least until 46 takes office.

Now we have Trump-ra causing problems and got into power because of “some kind of trick”.

The Military Industrial Complex NEEDS a constant state of war – or there will be no demand for their products. The Cold War was just perfect – a constant state of fear, but none of the weapons were actually used, so shoddy materiel was never questioned.

It’s not over until it’s over.
