“On further examination, the top part of the box is rather snug and seems like a good place for a nap. Though now the Woman is saying some nonsense about Not Being Able To See The Chocolate Guide. Perhaps she will make more sense when I wake up.”
Poor Lupin – he misses half of the feline fun of crinkly toys. Luckily Elvis and Puck are there to let him in on the experience. And Lupin can still bat stuff around.
Hi Mega Orbsters! I’m finally back! Got back from vacation about a week and a half ago but came home to find out that phone company STILL didn’t fix the cable line problem that began January 12 so still didn’t have internet access! Wound up switching to another internet carrier! First, wanted to send out condolences and warm thoughts to all who have suffered human and/or furbaby losses or health issues, etc. while I’ve been away. My prayers are with you. I’m happy to see the Boys are now in the process of getting ready for Valentine’s Day! I absolutely love looking at the February drawing in the BCN calendar!
‘Tis a true paradox. If the wrappers didn’t make crinkly sounds, would you still want to bat them around? If you didn’t bat them around, would they still make crinkly sounds?
I recently found out that a coworker of mine is deaf. I can’t help but think about her in terms of Lupin – for instance, I always think she reads whiskers.
Burt’s scroll is so true – classic Elvis, making mountains out of molehills :)
A former next door neighbour had a deaf cat who loved playing with crinkly toys even though she couldn’t hear them. I think they do enjoy the texture and feel of them too.
Many years ago I bought a little cross stitch kit which let you make Christmas tree ornaments in the shape of a mitt that had a cat’s face on which you could also personalise. I made 4 of them for my previous cats but have not put them up since they passed (must find the pattern so I can make one for Sam and Dean). I found 2 small shadow box frames recently so I decided to put the mitts on display – it seems a nice way to remember my former fur babies. Here’s the pictures I took of them – 2 mitts per frame -
Crumpled paper balls are our little female cat’s favourite toy. She carries them all over the house in her mouth, squawking loudly non-stop while doing so.
Reminder: Don’t leave chocolate where your pets can get it. It makes them sick. Although this tends to be more of a problem for dogs than cats, because dogs like sweets more … well, dogs will eat anything, won’t they?
Haven’t had much time to get on BCN, but If any of our British orbsters lost loved ones in the Grand Canyon, I wish to extend my deepest sympathies!
Also wish to hold up & boop any orbsters undergoing sad, scary or trying times! Blessings! >^.,.^<{{{{{{{{(((((((((([[[[[[[[[[Mega Orb]]]]]]]]]))))))))))}}}}}}}}}}}
. . . for those, who like “Simon’s Cat”, I came across this, today. It is over 24 minutes long, though I enjoyed watching the artist draw his cats and listening to him talk about the making of his videos. While “BCN” is still my favorite, though I have found, you can NEVER have enough cats! lol! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgD9d4-nw5A

Awww. Panel 4, Lupin is so worried that he might have been making bad sounds. (Although it hasn’t stopped him from batting the crinkly paper.)

Blossom loves to bat around candy wrappers. She even has a crinkly cat toy! It’s so fun to watch her play. <3

Psst, cats, just tear open the box and gobble all the goodies inside. Don’t forget to give me my share.

Crinklin’ wrappers on the floor
We’re gonna bat them around ‘till they’re out the door
Give them what-for
Then play some more
We’ll have us a time with our favorite play-toy
On the table is a funny box
Impossibly tiny
We could still use it to nap
Playing madcap
Leaving no gap
A Valentine’s gift for three very good boys!
Oh, we love the box and wrappers
You’ve got the way to make us happy
You know we will play in style!
Cracklin’ wrappers you’re a cheap cat’s play-toy
But you have the way to fill us with much joy!
So let’s all get together and bat those things around!
Play it now!
Play it now!
Play it now, good kitties!
Crinklin’ wrappers make us smile!
If Elvis finds them too loud, well that’s alright,
Puck doesn’t mind
And Lupin is fine
We’ll bat them around ’till we feel like napping!

“…and it’s full of crinkly wrappers” indicates the box has been “relieved” of any chocolate content….

Cats love that sound. It’s the sound of prey trying to escape through dry leaves.

So much for all that chocolate! Man will not be thrilled to be out $30 or so.
