Roger asks what presents everyone wants. Andy tells him that Peter wants an effect machine for his electric guitar, Paige wants a karaoke for Glee, Jason wants a sound system for his computer games. Roger then says he will be back in a couple of hours. Then Andy asks if he wants to know what she wants. He says he was going to get her some noise canceling headphones. Then Andy says she was just going to ask for some perfume, “but now that you mention it…”

    Here’s the translation, NordicFlame:

Roger told Andi that he’s decided to go Christmas shopping early, and asked Andi whether she had any idea what the kids want.

Andi answered that Peter wants a sound-effects machine for his electric guitar, Paige wants a “Glee” Karaoke, and Jason wants a sound system for his computer games.

Roger then said that he’d be back in a couple of hours, and Andi asked him whether he was going to ask her what SHE wanted for Christmas, whereupon Roger said that he figured on perhaps some of those earphones that are designed to block out noise. Andi’s response? “I was going to say ‘perfume,’ but now that you mention it… .”

    NordicFlame:

Roger: I thought of getting a head start on our christmas shopping. Any idea of what they might want?

Andy: Peter wants effects equipment for his electric guitar. Paige wants Glee’s Karaoke Revolution… Jason wants a sound system for his computer games…

Roger: OK, I’ll be back in a couple of hours.

Andy: Aren’t you gonna ask what I want?

Roger: I thought about a pair of those noise-cancelling headphones.

Andy: I was gonna say “perfume”, but now that you mention it.

Forgive any slips on the translation, my main language is spanish.

Well when the comics make a guy turn to Spanish I guess it’s time to stop reading the comics. This is America, speak English or go home.

Rahrahrah, we’re Amurrica, the only country so bleeep arrogant that we insist the rest of the world learn our language in order to trade with us.

This is America, we can speak whatever language we want.

I don’t know Spanish, but I easily got the essence of the parents’ conversation. I assume they are using Spanish so the children won’t understand what they’re saying about Christmas presents. As for the flurry of intolerant, ignorant comments from the right, may they just enjoy their hostile tea party until they fade into oblivion. Odd, isn’t it? how proud they are of their incompetence!

Geraldtarrant… You can speak whatever language you want in America but when your ability to speak English… the language of education, commerce of the country you live in .. you better learn and use it. My family spoke two. Your obviously not a teacher, I live in a border state and after any vacation, even a weekend the learning setback is huge. When you don’t use and practice the language of the country you live in you can’t excel. My immigrant family sat around the table with the kids at night and did homework with them and learned English. They knew to do well they must learn and use English in America,

My son lives in Japan and speaks fluently he has to for his job. My other children speak several also.

I live in a Border State and sometimes I feel discriminated against as an English speaker in my own country. You now don’t even have to prove your a citizen to vote in my state. How about that, no English, no Citizenship and the right to vote ! So I would like to see and hear more English not less. Oh and James Resh I am a registered Democrat but getting very frustrated.

Okay, I read a little Spanish, and so I got the jokes. BUT if I want to read in Spanish I will f’ing go to a country thats’ language is Spanish. Ours is ENGLISH!

F’wits and there all embracing crappola. Do you see other countries doing that? NO! They have enough smarts to realize that non-natives will learn the language or they will not. And the natives have other things to worry about.

in Quebec you are considered stupid if you can’t get by in at least two languages (although the politicians would prefer the people speak only French). immigrants there learn both French and English. as to the ones who ignorantly proclaim “speak English or go home” the less said the better. they will eventually go the way of the dinosaur.

And I really like the guys who keep saying, ‘That’s it! How dare you expose me to other languages!! I’m gone!’ then come back and post more…

I liked this discussion of the language . I thought I was the only one who was seeing spanish. thank you folks for the translations. I am so in agreement with people learning the language of the country they reside in. I hate the mess we are in because of the illegal immigrants. And I don’t just mean the Mexicans. there are other people from all over the world. We are all really immigrants if we look back at our history. But when our ancestors came here and we became independent of England, we set up our constitution with certain requirements to become a citizen of this country. This is a country based in good laws and liberating freedoms but we are losing our liberties by unrighteousness. The terrorists are winning because we are now under fear. that fear has led us to homeland security laws, no privacy, no freedom. think about it.

It’s funny that those that yell the loudest about speaking english have terrible writing skills. You’re and your are not interchangable. I agree that english should be this country’s official language but there is nothing wrong with speaking or at least understanding a second or third language. Our ignorance and hard headedness about this matter makes us the laughing stock of the rest of the world.

@Kirbey:I am a first generation citizen, both my parents are from China, I understand the importance of learning the language of the country. I just also happen to think it is absolutely IDIOTIC and IGNORANT when people shout garbage like “English or go home!”

My grandmother speaks horribly broken english, to the point where she really can’t communicate effectively, but she is also an American citizen. She worked and studied for months to prepare for the test, I remember her sitting and listening to tapes on the materials for hours on end. She’s a citizen, THIS is her home. It disgusts me that ignorant people can shout things like “You don’t speak english! Go home!”

Most developed countries require students to learn english as a requirement. So students coming out of other countries are bilingual, while American students are graduating behind the curve (while classes are offered, they are hardly mandatory)
