I really miss my daylight this morning. We got used to the darkness gradually as winter came but to have it just taken away one Sunday is discouraging.
I am apparently the only one who likes the current system, I guess. It may be because I am in a very northern part of the US, where day lengths are especially variable.
For me, the start of Daylight Savings time is a beautiful awakening to Spring for me. Even though it is most definitely not Spring weather wise where I am at, the big jump in an hour of extra light in the evening does buoy my spirits and it feels wonderful.
Similarly, the Fall change, for me is helpful. By that time of the year in my part of the country, it is already dark in the late afternoon…. shifting the hour back one more hour really has no tangible impact on the evening light for me… but having it be LIGHT in the morning again, even if only briefly due to the “Fall Back”…. that is very helpful for me.
I look forward to each change quite a bit…. so much so, that I do not even gripe (much) about changing the damn clocks. :)
I would like it all year long…I don’t understand the HUGE task it is to reset clocks…most of mine just reset themselves. The only one that is a little bit of hassle is the car clock…but not that much of a burden.

Leave it alone Arlo. She’s in no mood to wax philosophic

as the saying goes: only the government would say cutting a foot off the top of a blanket and sewing it to the bottom gives you a longer blanket…

Janis sounds like my wife. She prefers to be working outside, too. Myself, I prefer golfing or jogging. In other words, I work hard at avoiding work.

I think Janis is deliberately being obtuse about TV and winter. We watch TV because the days are short and cold.

My wife is a tax CPA and an avid gardener. Late winter and early spring are difficult.

I would LOVE daylight savings time in the winter. In late December it’s dark here by 3:30 in the afternoon.

How about we just leave it all alone so I don’t have to figure out how to reset the clock in my car twice a year
