The robins and cardinals here usually start at around 3:30 in the morning. They were singing before I got here and they’ll be singing long after I’m gone.
My wife and I live on a small lake. We fall asleep to the sound of tree frogs, crickets, owls and other critters that go screech, hoot or chirp in the night. About the only sound that disturbs sleep happens at this time of year when the geese fight for nesting sights although those altercations can break out at any time of day.
And I’m not sure it’s all fighting, If she comes swimming out from behind the bushes smoking a cigarette, it might be something else.
I seem to redeemer when we lived in this particular place. In the summer, about 3 a.m. the birds would start. I really hated it! but later in the day, I loved watching them! Go figure!

Many a rooster met his fate by being too zealous in his sunrise greeting

I leave the fan on the a/c running all night. Not the cold part – just the fan.

The birds around here are much more considerate. They wait until mid-morning. Well it is a 55+ community.

Mockingbirds can (and do) emulate The sound of an electronic alarm.

I could swear that this is an obscure reference to the early morning chirping of the tweeter in chief. Who can sleep with that going on?

I use a sleep mask and ear plugs.
