B.D.: This can't possibly be right... SAM! Sam! there are 17,000 texts on our phone bill! 17,000! Sam: 17,000? Oh, my God, Dad, seriously? That's all? B.D.: What do you mean, that's all? Sam: Dad, all the popular girls exchange at least 30,000 texts a month! I can't believe this... I'm just a Nancy Nobody! Everyone hates me! Thanks for the reality check, Dad! B.D.: Oh... sorry, honey. I didn't know. Sam: that was close. Boopsie: Next time I'm busting you. Go do your homework.

That many texts could fill a textbook!

Girls/women have always been the best cons.

That’s still $1700 without an unlimited plan.

30K a month, a thousand a day, (and assuming 8 hrs of sleep a night), that’s over one every minute of every day. What my 14 yr old niece corrected me on though, was assuming that kids don’t text while sleeping…..: She told me that she scrolls through her Sent folder the next day and regularly sends out dozens of texts that, while coherent and correct, she has no recollection of actually waking up and sending throughout the previous night….!

Does Sam go to drama school?

All teen-aged girls are enrolled in drama school.

Coyoty nailed it. Unlimited plans mean to send as much drivel as possible…keep the towers tied up 24/7 so you get your full share of airtime. Maybe a dollar a text would slow this down a little.

No, it would just bankrupt Dad.

Not before he takes it out of her allowance! Do they still get allowance? My youngest is 23 and in truth, I don’t track it…

Nice little manipulation trick, kid. I think I will borrow it sometime.

@Red Rascal—That would mean my pre-teen granddaughters go to drama pre-school.
Merry Christmas all.

BTW OMG WTF

Texts are often just one or 2 words. A ten minute phone call counts as “one” call. A ten minute texting conversation may count as 50 or 100 texts!

I once had a textbook.
Had about 17000 texts in it but it could have been 30000.
Can’t remember.
Did just ok in the class as I recall.
Long time ago, though.
Where I work we have an email gateway that sifts out all the actual spam from the might be spam and not spam at all. On an actual day we have as much as 120000 messages a day “cleansed” as spam. That still lets in 10 - 20000 messages a day of might be spam and in there are the not spams at all. Those numbers are for about 600 - 700 peoples.
Lotsa stuff to talk about.
Think I will have a Spam sammich for lunch with some Tillamook cheese and lettuce on some whole wheat bread and a Guinness Stout, slightly warm.
Happy day, YAWL!

It would be cheaper if she just played Grand Theft Auto, instead.

Does anybody else miss the comments on Pibgorn? I know this isn’t the place to say it, but the right place is, of course, the comments on Pibgorn! So how can I get in touch??
It leaves a gap in my life!

Texting is one of the main reasons why people cannot spell, use punctuation and proper grammar. I refuse to have it on our family plan, much to my teenage children’s chagrin.

^ Good move Dad – might just save their lives on the road too.
