The Moon Compound/Lunar Exhibition is a good idea. It provides Mysta with a role at Smith Industries, educating visitors and school field trips. Gould’s rich moon era can be the topic of lectures and flashbacks, even as current exploration—Mars Science Laboratory, Curiosity rover, Hubble Space Telescope, Webb Space Telescope (launching 2020), proposed space observatories—potentially gets a nod. Stellaluna and Retik can play supporting roles, following their bliss and sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for space exploration. I like it.
It is no surprise that interest in the Moon has been rekindled by Mysta’s popular film, and Honeymoon’s emergence as the capable and gutsy granddaughter of a certain famous detective. The location of the Lunarians remains secret, and Moon Valley remains uninhabitable, leaving Smith Industries as the hub for research, innovation, and education. Yet another pleasing development from Team Tracy.
Honeymoon would be a better example of Moon people. She is biologically a descendant of the Moon. Mysta may have xGuv’s DNA but she was created in a laboratory. Honeymoon had a natural birth and is actually related to xGuv. Only Honeymoon has actually been to the Moon, not Mysta, Retik, or Stellaluna. So, I question what Mysta has to say about it to the audience. “Ladies and Gentlemen, we ask for complete quiet while Mysta shoots a lightning bolt at the bull seye on this target. Then she’ll talk about her implanted memories.”
About time! I’ve been asking about giant escargot since the reintroduction of the Lunarians. I hope it keeps well in the deep freeze.Looks like Diet Smith is running a Lunazoo.
I was a young lad in the 1960’s and loved the entire Moon series in Dick Tracy. Does anyone know of a collection or book of those from way back when? I’d buy a copy of that if I could find it. Thanks!
Our local supermarket ’hole has escargot in their fish mongers case for a buck each. The few times that I have gone in there, I not been brave enough to try one yet. Maybe it is the green color in the shell opening.
In some parts of Europe, a transient carnival or amusement park is generally referred to as a “Luna Park.” But here, Diet Smith is creating a real Luna Park! I hope he has an abundant supply of Giant Escargot and that it is on the menu of the in-park food vendors. And when Mysta Chimera is back to serve as barker, this could be a profitable sideline for Smith Industries. The comparison to Disney Corp. that I’ve already alluded to seems stronger than ever as Diet explains more of his plans for his exhibit, with Retik and Stellaluna as additional attractions. On with the show!
I was interested in what happened to Crystal after the story line of her running from Bribery and slipping and falling in the woods and Honeymoon’s ability to generate heat to keep Crystal alive until the medics arrived…
Did Honeymoon visit Crystal as her ankle healed ?
Did Crystal have a change of heart, like the Mole, Littleface, etc. ?
Hopefully these themes can be developed further while the Sawtooth story runs in the background…
