Once owned some rural land. In one 2-acre parcel dandelions bloomed from edge to edge on the same day; a beautiful sweep of yellows and greens. I enjoyed it so much that I wondered why society had decided just plain cut grass was somehow better. I let it grow until the wind carried the white puffs to their next birth place. Have never looked at suburban yards with any joy since. My flower beds are mostly wild flowers fighting mightily against the effects of air borne herbicides and pesticides from over zealous neighborhood sprayers.Someone once said _ a weed is just a flower someone didn’t want there_. True.
The ongoing, growing crack in my driveway, the ants that came through along with a weed of some sort, made me realize (again) how stupid humans have been for centuries.

Not unlike the way the 4 O’Clock plants have broken the mortar on my front porch steps.

Bear in mind that the dandelion wasn’t native to North America. It was imported from Europe as a food crop.

To me, it seems the dandelion got “stoned” and that is what the other flower wants some of. :)
