Mike, among other things, is a DGA director? Otherwise, he wouldn’t be working on a union set in New York. Or are they in Texas? In which case, go for it, Mike.
This is a perfect example of WHY I used to ban clients, and client reps, from the set when we were shooting an ad.
It was bad enough to have to put up with the idiots from the ad agency – especially, if we were shooting “in house” but the clients were insufferable !
The Jim Andrews of the world, always thought that they knew how to shoot a commercial, or promotion, better than the professionals …. and when you were forced to follow their direction and the production turned to crap …. it was, of course, your fault !
We always used to shoot " With and Without Vaseline " – meaning doing the commercial the way the “client” suggested and doing it our way.
Inevitably, the client always selected what we produced, over their own grandiose ideas, when they viewed the final cuts.

And this is why you never invite the CEO to watch the actual workers doing the actual work. Reminds me of the sign in an auto-repair shop:
Repairs: $30 an hour
If you watch: $40
If you help: $50

Aren’t the mountains of more interest than the valley? Behold the sunny slopes and marvel, ye drooling fantasizers..
