Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Regarding the third frame, Luannâs figure has matured faster than her mind. I would like to see her mind catch up. Time for a good plot involving Luann. Maybe Tara trying to lure Luann out of her comfort zone. Thereâs lots of possibilities in that direction.
New classes and new professors? Anyone wanna place bets on how likely it is that we actually see any of this?
And we enter another year of Luannâs endless JC experience, with still no word on her plans to transfer to a 4-year university. After all, itâs pretty impossible to become a teacher without at LEAST a bachelorâs degree. Itâs really past time for her to get past the âArrrgh, another crappy year of schoolâ high-school-mindset, and start treating her education like itâs actually something she wants to do (even more so since education is apparently her CHOSEN CAREER FIELD.) But no, Evans still insists on writing her like sheâs 15 years old.
I very seldom comment on the drawing, which is usually fine, and I focus on the storylines, but notice those teeth in panel 1. My goodness a carnivore!! Of course this means, probably, that we will get some school themed arcs coming (watch it be like Meghan and Harry, Brad and Toni pregnancy watch).
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why Greg and Karen also have story lines that have nothing to do with our heroine â and why we should be grateful for that!
She says âschoolâ rather than âcollege.â I think maybe this was drawn some time ago and Greg is using it up â sometimes happens on a Sunday. I donât think any conclusions can be drawn from her figure â Luann has been a very nice shape for some time. See, for example, https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2010/08/08 back in 2008.
@ianm: But Luann is saying ânew professorsâ. I donât remember anyone ever talking about âprofessorsâ when they were talking about high schoolâŠ
Actually Nancy is being sarcastic when she says she appreciated a summer break from paying bills and other realities of life, when that never stops, but Luann has yet to really deal with the never ending reality of real life. No or short breaks.
Iâve been thinking that NOW I know why I get so stressed in August â B2S panic and all the adult responsibilities! Just had my first B2S dream of the impending school year.
Luann, I understand your frustration â youâve never liked school, and youâre stuck there for the indefinite future. And if you ever get out, you wonât like it any more if you become a teacher.
But it doesnât have to be this way. Little kids love you, and apparently you already know all need to know. Get a Licensed Day Care Provider certification (Iâm sure your Junior College has a program), quit this endless school nonsense, and open Miss Luannâs Junior Art and Drama Academy. Thereâs probably unused space at The Fuse that you can take over. Take care of toddlers all day. Teach them how to fingerpaint with their own bodily fluids that they spew out. Draw funny pictures for them. Get them to act out skits about the trials of growing up. Pay Gunther to come over and appear in costume as storybook characters (he needs the money). Give acting lessons to tweens. Youâll be a lot happier and more fulfilled than you are in school.
And you can continue to live rent-free at home; Frank and Nancy wonât complain. Nancy can handle your business finances. If Pru has disappeared, you can take over her room as an office; if sheâs still around, you and she could organize a Youth Theater Project and rake in the dough.
Nice, clean drawing, but since the Sheriff mentioned that now days drawing âmachinesâ have replaced drawing pens, and then comparing this with todayâs âLuann Againâ Iâm disillusioned. Where does the artist stop and the machines begin? The old Charles Schulz would have crapped in his ice skates. Are we ready to do away with art classes and replace them with computer classes?
the stress of clothes buying, book shopping and new professors?? huh?Lectures, homework and exams âŠyesâŠ.but the 1st three itemsâŠ. noâŠ..unless you are Luann.
Not the thoughts of someone gaining maturity. By the time you enter college, school should be a means to a career, not something you can hardly endureâŠlike when you were twelve.

This is one of the reasons I really hope Luann will not become a teacher but a professional artist. She hate school (and sheâs totally right).

Bring back Bernie !!!!! Sorry. This is my new campaign. I miss Luannâs one time best friend.

I hated school until high school where I started to be exposed to knowledge I enjoyed. Then when I got into my specialty in college I really took off!
