As a guy I never realized that women’s underwear changes. What causes it to change and how often?

What’s she talking about? He has put away his thongs.

She used to be a C—36. Now she is a C—long.

The future is going Commando!

That doesn’t mean we never ‘change’ them.

Sizes? Okay. Styles/Types? Only if you let them, Janis. Only if you let them.

I think she’s feeling nostalgic about the bikini underwear and skimpy bras that used to be part of her laundry….

before she started wearing such plain, utilitarian styles.

I see as mostly her overreacting to aging and to a bit of middle-age weight gain.

She “needs” a bra with more support, she’s “too old” for skimpy styles, and dressing up requires so-called “tummy control” underwear.

She thinks she’s fat, and that people see her as old….

but Arlo doesn’t see her that way, and neither should she.

She’s plenty thin and youthful enough to wear what she likes, especially underneath her clothes,

where no one else will see it anyway… except Arlo, and he’s all in favor.

She’s a lucky woman!

The difference between lingerie and underwear? Underwear is comfortable!

An even more valid (and visible) indicator of a woman’s age is the size of her purse. As a teenager, the purses are fairly small. Beginning in her twenties, the purses begin to grow larger, especially if she has children. As the kids move out of the house, the purses begin to shrink. During grandmother years, the purses might grow a little but not much. Finally, in the advanced years, the purses frequently become again teenage size.

It’s a self-inflicted disease.

that’s how I feel. I wondered when I went from not needing a bra ever because I was small except a couple of important times, and then it worked to my advantage, wearing bikini panties, when I needed to wear THOSE, to having to buy granny drawers LOL but considering my rear grew and I suddenly sprouted after I went through the pause….I now look like most of the older women in my family roflmao

I’ve found the more you pay for your underwear the less you get.

Wrong! I change mine every morning.

Since the “foundation garments” shown look pretty utilitarian, it seems Janis is referring to age related issues. Arlo, on the other hand, judging by his look in panel 4 interprets her comment as accusatory. I.e., “Men never change their underwear.”

I wonder where she got that idea? Arlo?

Reminds me of the Warner Bros. cartoon with a sign on a neighborhood theater saying, “We change our shorts every day.”

Not true, Janis. The long-legged, oxymoronic briefs are all the rage these days.

Wait until you get a few years older. Will everyone’s underwear change then? Well…Depends…

Ugh I’ve gone from lingerie to foundations. Depressing.

Unless you’re in the habit of wearing your underwear in public, why would it matter what you wear underneath?

My problem is that they don’t make bras in my size – the cup and the band measurements don’t go together. I cannot buy in stores – Sears used to advertise that they had bras to fit 90% of women – they laughed at my size. (Fat and small breasted.)
