Thereâs a ton of interesting symbolism in this painting, but what I really wonder is, why is there an accurate depiction of a European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) on the far left-hand side?
all have info about this artist, perhaps in addition to whatâs pointed to by the first URL. This is the first work by him used here.

When they were three, the Moirai (Three Fates) were:
Clotho (/ËkloĘθoĘ/, Greek ÎÎťĎÎ¸Ď [klÉËËtĘ°ÉË] â âspinnerâ) spun the thread of life from her Distaff onto her Spindle. Her Roman equivalent was Nona, (the âNinthâ), who was originally a goddess called upon in the ninth month of pregnancy.
Lachesis (/ËlĂŚkÉŞsÉŞs/, Greek ÎÎŹĎÎľĎÎšĎ [ËlakĘ°esis] â âallotterâ or drawer of lots) measured the thread of life allotted to each person with her measuring rod. Her Roman equivalent was Decima (the âTenthâ).
Atropos (/ËĂŚtrÉpÉs/, Greek áźĎĎÎżĎÎżĎ [Ëatropos] â âinexorableâ or âinevitableâ, literally âunturningâ,19 sometimes called Aisa) was the cutter of the thread of life. She chose the manner of each personâs death; and when their time was come, she cut their life-thread with âher abhorred shearsâ.20 Her Roman equivalent was Morta (âDead Oneâ).
Holy cow, Radish, youâre turning this into an education ! Actually, I (for one) really appreciate this kind of contribution. I knew they were the Fates, but was driving myself nuts trying to understand whatâs going on here. Thanks!
