If the retrospective of the strip is done well, this could be quite interesting. As long as Jim restrains himself from writing “we haven’t eaten yet” every other strip.
Walt & (maybe) Skeezix wouldn’t have to deal with the sadness of a wake or the expense of a funeral once they both move into The Old Comics’ Home permanently!
Since Walt mentioned food, here’s food for thought for a recurring arc. Once this is over, and we return to regular appearances of Slim, Rufus, etc., then make routine return visits to the Old Comics Home, where Walt is not only reunited not only with Phyllis, but the other residents like Mutt and Jeff, the Yellow Kid, Krazy Kat, the Little King, Sad Sack, etc. would be a part of the action, not just background observers. Obviously it wasn’t a problem including Mutt And Jeff in this story line. Hopefully the others could also be regulars. That would appease a lot of diehard fans in the process!

Ralph Edwards, eh? That’s a blast from the past, but then, everything at GA is.

Great. So there won’t be any roast and we’ll all have to swallow liver mush.

“First 100 years…” That gives me hope that we are not winding down.

Will we see some of the characters who have “passed on” in the strip continuity, as residents of the Old Comics Home?

I think they’re going to rerun the 1st 100 years. Then, starting in 2119, they’ll continue starting in 2019

Panel 3: That’s actually, one of Walt’s better quips! Spot on! (Not sure if I like Mutt’s reaction, though)! :)

This is a wonderful continuity! Jim Scancarelli is a gem.

I believe we’re going to see a bunch of the old strips, possibly embedded in this “roast” story line.
