Love that last panel. I swear Elvis has a light bulb over his head, LOL. Has Burt been secretly doing the AV work this whole time, like a ninja? Or is the scrolling text self-aware? A question for the ages…
This is off the subject but I’m asking for prayers for those of us in the path of hurricane Florence. I swear there’s a bulls eye on my city and she’s headed straight for it.
Haha! Love Baba Mouse sweeping furiously whilst Natasha (new readers ignore the name) escapes the sweep of her mighty broom! And now we’re all on the same page with Burt’s scrolling text.
I will always thank PBS for bringing me such British programs as Monty Python, Benny Hill, Dr. Who, The Avengers (Diana Rigg ::SIGH::), and such. (Never have watched a episode of Downton Abby, so you know how my mind works…) This is significant, because Elvis’s pose in the last panel reminds me of the Bobbies in one episode of The Goodies. They had lost the person(s) they were chasing, and were standing in front of a fence talking, scratching their chins, then turned to the fence to show the word “B-A-F-F-L-E-D” spelled out on their backs. I can picture a large capital “B” on Elvis’s back…
Lost one of my fur babies last night. Phoebe was “older than dirt” and she had a stroke. The vet said her chances of recovery were not good so we made the decision to let her go peacefully. No matter how many time you make that decision it never gets easier. :(
Also, to anyone who may have been impacted by the events 17 years ago, my thoughts are with you and your families. I see the changed Manhattan Skyline every day. Never Forget!
I am in the path of Florence too. I live in Wilson, NC. I have prepared with water, batteries, food, etc., but am still concerned. Please pray for all of us in the path of the storm. My five cats and I thank you. I have plenty of food and litter for them too and have brought in their carriers just in case.
People in the path of Hurricane Florence, please do not leave your Pets to fend for themselves. They will be in danger. Contact your local Humane Society or Rescue groups to find Pet Friendly places to ride out the storm.
Good luck and I hope you and all your families come through unscathed.
I was a tech guy courtesy of an internship at the local cable television public-access studio when I was in high school. When I got to college and joined the student audiovisual-team group, they damn near genuflected when I told them I had no designs on being in front of the camera; I just wanted to be in the control room.
Good afternoon, orbsters and orbabies. I hope you are all having a good day. Paul and I got wonderful news today at the hospital, there are no cancerous cells in his bloodwork, so he is officially cancer free. There is great joy in the House of Rodgers today!
Quite a day here at the BCN community: the usual BCN banter, Florence, the passing of a cat, 9/11, and Paul is cancer free. It’s wonderful to be able share all this with such a great group of people. The best place on the web!
I did a load of laundry last night. I have a front loading washer, and Sooti was very curious about what I was doing. She was so interested, that she climbed into the washer a couple times and I had to pull her out (as I do not want to run the washer with a cat inside).
When I was ready to start the washer I had to pull Sooti out again, but she moved close again after I pulled her out and her tail got caught in the door when I closed it, so I opened it quickly to free her and she ran off. She’d protested about her tail being caught, but seemed to be upset more because she was stuck rather than how she would have been if it had hurt her (the washer door has a huge, soft gasket around it, so I don’t think her tail was damaged at all), and she didn’t seem to be bothered once I had freed her tail.

Robber mice again, in traditional burglar’s striped pullover and mask. I don’t see a sack marked “swag”, though.

When I was in school the AV guys were the nerds. Now I guess it’s the computer geeks?

I feel like there should be the traditional light bulb going off over Elvis’ head in 1st panel!

Will do. Stay safe. I’m in its path too but fairly inland. Still worried about flooding and power outages here though.

So now you newbies know who has been writing all that scroll. What we’ve been seeing is old footage that Burt has prepared/edited for viewers. :)

I hit random and ended up here, over a year later. I just noticed Georgia’s signature, straight up, like one of the towers!
