My father is 94. I can relate. There’s nothing I do that he can’t find fault with. I didn’t do it right. I didn’t do it his way. I took to long to do it. It was better in the old days. And that’s when he’s having a good day
Cranky is as cranky does, I suppose. Being of the elderly persuasion myself, I can get a bit testy myself at times. It usually happens when people equate “old” with “stupid” or “invisible.”

It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Just use some WD-40. The “crank” will be easier to turn then.

Nobody said that being a curmudgeon was easy ! Takes hard work and daily practice.
‘Course, best way to keep those cranky muscles toned up is to watch the daily news. That’s enough to try the patience of a saint !

Roz should’ve said, “There’s no ‘I’ in ‘curmudgeon.’”

Big trouble with getting old. You are stiff in places you don’t want to be and the one place you want to be, won’t get stiff reliably anymore.

“You can’t help growing older but you don’t have to get old” — George Burns. But there are those who enjoy getting old.
