People who graduated in ‘61 are 75 years old. How many of them would still be around Milford, given that the town is so small there’s only one grade school?
P1 Another tough day for the boys in Milford, practice and then a stop at the Bucket for shakes and fries.
P2 Who can forget that game in ’61. I was a sophomore and will never forget how dirty Valley Tech was. I am glad that 57 years later Milford is still looking for payback. By the way, who will ever forget the flagrant foul in the Oakwood basketball game that knocked Billy Bunkin out for the season?
Spoiler alert, Tilden will beat Milford who is looking past them for the revenge game.
Let’s go back in the time machine with Mr. Peabody and his faithful companion Sherman. 1961 was Gil’s 4th season, JFK was President and the courting of Holly Dobbs occurred later in the decade. Coach Drool at Valley Tech sprayed you when he spoke, low top cleats were progressive and the bikini had yet to be introduced at Milford Lake.
It’s 1985 and that new ’Relax" song is playing on the jukebox by some guy named Frankie who went to Hollywood.
I was in the first grade during the fall of 1961. My older (still living brother) was a junior. I actually remember Pop taking me to some HS football games from that year but not details of any of them.
I do remember Mickey and Roger and the home run race. I got started pulling for the Yankees then and still do. Was a fan even in the awful era from ’64 to ’77.

Talk about holding a grudge. One cheap shot 57 years ago and they’re still looking for revenge.

P1- Bolek and Tiki rest their right wrists after a grueling practice in shower techniques and tactics
P3- the next iteration of the tat slap? Or is that a radical new shower move?

Panel 3 is really nicely done with the old “Senor Wences Talking Hand” bit.
“We gonna bury those guys, all right?”
“S’awright.”

Now I understand the cinema sub plot. This is R&Ws version of “The Longest Yarn/Yawn” (pick your own).
