seriously, drama teacher? cast a girl who “can” sing? if you wear hearing aids, you sure their batteries didn’t need a change?

I’ll be questioning the mental capacities of the drama teacher if Heart doesn’t get a part. Objectively speaking, she’s much better than Kat. It’s probably just a trick for some extra drama.

Heart will be the Cat in the Hat!

I thought Dean got that part?

I hope we get a reason on why Kat got the part, when her singing was obviously bad.

Heart just went from double-guilt to double-SHOCK!

Sometimes teachers don’t always necessarily pick the best performers. Sometimes it’s about who needs to be center stage and who needs to learn a lesson about being part of a team. It’s not just a play—it’s a teaching moment. This is middle school. Not Broadway.

This reminds me of the kids all getting trophies for participating.

Heart was not prepared for her audition, whereas Kat was, thus they felt Kat was more responsible. Maybe they are afraid that Heart won’t remember her lines.

I know from community theater that if two characters are going to spend a lot of stage time interacting, the directors will pick two people who are close to each other in talent, so one does not blow the other out of the water. Heart could have been TOO good for the part of Mazye. Just because Mayze seems like a lead part and Heart is more of a lead performer, does not mean Heart is a good FIT for that character. Just my two cents.

I’m beginning to suspect that Mark is in the pocket of Big Exclamation Point! (See! The third panel!)

I think she is a shoe in for Gertrude………….
