That is 150 days in the school year for 12 years (USA in the past). These days it is now 180 days a year for 13 years, including kindergarten, which these days is more like what first grade would have been when I was young. When I was young kindergarten was just “getting used to being with other kids” not expecting you to learn to read and write and such. And these days even pre-school might have some ABC, and such learning in them.
That’s just elementary school. Then there’s six more years in jr. high school and high school, and after that a couple of years in jr. college and, depending on what career you choose, eight to twelve years in college. That’s way over twelve thousand hours. And, after all of that, somebody tells you that an education is what’s left after you’ve forgotten everything you learned in school.
I didn’t particularly like school when I was there but in hindsight the time spent learning was well worth it. Of course, there were things I later learned should have been taken with a grain of salt but that was all part of the process of the formal education process. And of course, I learned a lot outside of school as well.
10-14 years beyond high school?!? For what degree? Husband has a master’s degree in engineering and he only spent five years in college…. And what is jr. college? Don’t think I’ve ever heard of it.

Skipped Sunday strip from October 23, 1955. In the GoComics address, replace “peanuts-begins/2023/09/08” with "peanuts/1955/10/23.

It makes you question the quality when you think of it that way.

If you go on Steam, and check reviews for games like Skyrim, you’ll see that 12000 hours is nothing.
Nothing at all.

I’d go back to those idyllic days of grade school in a New York minute (assuming a NY minute is faster than any other kind of minute)
