Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Calvin, you could eat 4 boxes in one sitting and when you’re done with them you wouldn’t need a propeller powered beanie to fly because you would already being doing so.
I take exception to the commercials for these products. The voice softly announces at the end in rapid-fire speech “Part of this complete breakfast.” which also features toast, eggs, orange juice and possibly bacon or sausage. The breakfast is complete without the chocolate-coated-sugar bombs. But neither child nor parent pays attention to that detail.
I was just looking at my sons Kellogg’s NASCAR #5 race cars yesterday. There was several designs for the various cereals boxes they came out of. My kids are 12 years apart. My daughter will never know the joy of getting a prize at the bottom of the box…or digging one out with cereal all over the tabled.
Growing up (not that i ever did…) in the 50s and 60s we had at least five cereals with the word “Sugar” in the name: Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, Sugar Crisp, Sugar Frosted Flakes, and, oddly, Sugar Chex. Just imagine how rich we made our dentists.
Sanitarium Weetbix (still a massive seller here in NZ) gave away little cards with pictures of birds of the world. You wrote away for a nice little, informative book to glue them into. Rice bubbles had plastic zoo animals (always made in Japan, before it got it’s act together and started making amazing things!).

Hobbes, you will be sacrificing your health for a good cause.

Do these “eat a bunch of cereal and get a prize” contests even exist anymore?
KA7DRE Premium Member about 6 years ago
Hobbes is starting to look a bit on the sick side wondering just how much of that stuff his has to get down.

The toy will probably last longer than the cereal.

He could ask his mom to buy bigger Tupperware containers. When dad eats breakfast, he may wonder why different types of cereal are mixed together.

I hope this doesn’t turn into a serial; I just don’t think Hobbes could stomach it!

haha, this is a great one. Such an emblem of childhood- the agonizing wait for something, and the payoff.

Eat up, Calvin, and enjoy all that chocolatey-sweet goodness!

For what 4 boxes of cereal cost, you could buy a drone.

I remember from one cereal, healthy cereal, had a different contest, as I was already eating this cereal I did order.

Garbage disposals have an unlimited capacity for consumption of cereal. 4 boxes? No problem!

When I sent away for junk requiring “two box tops” I’d send in the top and bottom of the same box. The prizes always came!
