The rule of self….

Unfortunately Calvin, “winning” also requires money and brains—-in that order.

The part about “Might makes right” doesn’t really suit Calvin’s character. He invariably attacks stronger people such as Susie and Rosalyn. The time that he fantasized about being a pirate about to attack a Man O’ War was truer to Calvin’s nature.

Looks like Hobbes, the tiger, has read Hobbes, the philosopher.

Hummm… self-centered, none too bright, arrogant, ALWAYS convinced that he’s right and EVERYONE ELSE is wrong, nothing is his fault, and he’s totally unethical. Calvin REALLY reminds me of someone we have to endure seeing daily in the news, but I’m not quite sure who it is…./s

This Sunday Comic was printed in 1989…and is so true today…just as it was every previous decade.

“Ahh”, indeed.

Reminds me of all those idiots who ride left lane talking on the phone driving on the interstate. Don’t care about the long line of traffic behind them .

Relative morality in a nutshell.

The comments were relatively civil; maybe because it’s Sunday.

I have never heard of any dog actually eating another dog. It would be on YouTube if it happened.

Distracted thinking, that’s the Calvin we know and love.

Sunday strips always lead to them in the park or somewhere like that, Calvin taking 90% of the strip, and talking about stuff I have no idea what is is… I LIKE IT

Which is how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, until the poor get tired of the rich.

Wouldn’t going to a place with a million distractions, impair the ability to do serious thinking?

Situational ethics are my favorite. And, extremely useful.

Donald Trump is this Calvin made flesh (or whatever that orange goo is).

Morally reprehensible, but absolutely correct in the statement “… The winners write the history books”.

Just wondering what it would be like if, during these walk in the woods, Calvin meets Winnie the Pooh and Hobbes meets Tigger…

I was a mere pup when C&H first ran. I always suspected there was more going on with it that I grasped at the time. Now I’m sure of it.

One of the principle tenets of the religion of Calvin.

Evidently, laws of physics don’t apply to the world of Calvin. Try lifting a rock of that size with a twig of that size.

This particular strip illustrates why the only ethical system that works is one in which its universal application is to everyone’s benefit. BTW, it’s ludicrous to suggest that Calvin’s behavior is typical of only one politician or one political party.

Funny, not so funny, but this was my mother’s philosophy. I really don’t know how any one of us 5 kids turned out with any semblance of normality.

The end may justify the means as long as there is something that justifies the end.

Philosophies are fine, until you get the short end of the stick. If you still think it’s fair then maybe you have something. Often, however, you do not.
