One can only imagine the grisly episode as it was happening with a lot of “imaginative powers” being called on in this day of kinder gentler, fuzzier story telling.
Wonder if this killer got rejected from a school crush from a teacher or given a bad grade on what was thought to be a great effort…..whatever it was this guy has it in teachers that’s for sure.
Another cinematic strip. No cut and paste from Team Tracy. A medium-close shot of Joe and Tracy. Depth of field gives us police between the talking heads. Pull back to a medium shot with silhouettes, classic tie, and flashing lights. Reverse shot for panel three shows us what the three detectives see: Crime Scene. It all adds up to narrative progress well drawn.
While we did see a knife on the table, back when the killer was introduced. We did not see the murder. Tar could have used the knife to force his victim into the chair, and/or to cut the ropes he used to bind the man. Seems that garroting is his preferred form of homicide. Gruesome.
How long are Tracy & crew going to wait to (a) investigate whether the school teacher dating site keeps records of who dates whom and (b) notify the site that a serial killer hunts and finds his female victims on the site???
Alt Script: 1- JOE: Hey Tracy, your chin looks like the prow of a ship. Burn! DT: Well, yours looks like a potato from one of the better steak houses. 2- DT: Aww, let’s face it. We’re hideous. Let’s hide in the dark. 3- STAIRS: You’re both so ugly this crime scene tape should be on you, not me.
I hope the police find this worthless pile of… hanging from a light-pole since he likes to strangle his victims. One who deserve rock-star money and status.
Artwork seems a little bit off today. Joe should be in shadow, Tracy’s hat doesn’t seem to fit and why are the stairs and banister having a conversation?

Good morning™, contamination avoiders!
We are not privy to the information Joe shared with Tracy about the other victims, but maybe they’ve all been numbered.

Good Morning Neil, Gweedo, HarryCK, and the rest of you crime fighters in the shadows, except for D.T.’s tie.

The leading suspect is Barnabas Tar….let’s see what happens. Serial killers almost always make a mistake that gets them caught……

Can’t wait to see where this goes!

All the victims were math teachers. It all adds up.

Weird thing just happened — it took me three tries to get to this page. Got a “Could Not Connect” message the first two times.

“It all adds up”, so it was a math teacher?

LOL!
Sometimes cut and paste is a good thing!!!

If the killer numbers his victims, he could skip a number and drive the cops crazy looking for a missing teacher.

Maybe the killer had to repeat the 7th grade, because the teachers were doing their jobs

Yup. It all adds up, to seven!
What is the significance of this numeral?
And is it just me, or has the “angle” of this story shifted from sportswriter’s revenge killings to teacher killings? Or do the two somehow mesh?

Great pictures of steps, still haven’t seen a body. Yesterday camera folk took great pics of steps, did the Invisible Man get killed?

Why are the steps talking to each other ? Now I sound like a couple of other jerks that habitate this great comic.
