This strip is great. Jimmy encapsulated exactly what a good marriage should be. I know that I wouldn’t survive long without my own dear “emotional support animal.”

I can emotionally support you in Maui!

    Or Fiji.

    Or Naples.

Janus you might not make it. You would need to be certified and Arlo would need a letter from his doctor affirming that you are necessary for Arlo’s mental health. The airlines are tightning up on ESAs. They can refuse to allow you on since you are neither canine nor feline, less than 100 pounds, and can curl up to fit on the floor, under the seat in-front of Arlo.

99% of these “emotional support” animal cases are cr*p.

It’s just people who have bizarrely anthropomorphized their pets (which is just cuddly livestock) to the point where they think they have a right to treat them as equivalent to children. And have the audacity to expect rational people to play along.

And if you stroke her properly, she purrs. If you’re lucky, she sheds.

For some of the totally weird & off the wall supposed support animals that some try to get on flights with, those people need some real help, & probably should be confined to a mental health facility.

Oh wait! I just remembered, I once was a comfort “animal” for husband. When we had been married maybe 5 years he had to take a course for work which had to be taken in the state capital. He does not like to be alone. I came up with an idea that I would drive up with him and get him settled into his room and spend the night. The next day I would take Amtrack back to Manhattan, go to a client there and then take the LIRR back home.

I did so, but he did not want to stay alone the for the second night. I ended up washing my clothes in the hotel room and leaving them hanging to dry and taking the train back to Manhattan the next day as planned and then returned to the capital. I then took the train back the next day to Manhattan, took the subway out to a client in Queens (who I had nothing with me that I would normally have and worked around not having my records) and then took the subway back to Manhattan and then first took LIRR home.

Sure seems like I was a comfort animal for him.
