But her name is Alex. How does the teacher know she’s a girl? I mean, my name is Alex too and my teachers never knew I was a girl. Although I suppose technically I wasn’t a girl. My friends called me girly though. But they also called me Dumbo, and I wasn’t an elephant either. Rats. I forget where I was going with this.

When I was in school, it was the girls who got preferential treatment. At least till high school.

Mrs Jasper is trying to get the boys involved — and failing. She should remember it’s important to keep the girls involved too.

Though I never got beyond substitute teaching, I called on the first hand up. It was fairer and easier when you don’t know everyone’s name.

I am thinking that is what parent teacher day is supposed to be about. However, a little impromptu az chewing can make things more interesting for the kid.

Really. If father is going to raise an enlightened child, he needs participate in such things. Funny, I don’t recall JJ being this evolved, my memories of her are all, it seems, from her flake days with the stoner after she and Mike divorced and he had custody of Alex. But I really like this version of her.
