That’s Alex’s problem. She’s too polite.

Am I the only one who finds it wrong that she favors either genders over the other?

Did Alex just pull a fast one on Ms. Jasper?

Seems like a case of the squeaky wheal gets the oil.

I had a professor in law school who favored the girls over the boys. Never called on a guy to answer a question. Would even tell guys to be quiet if they spoke up in class. Found out after the class was over that she was getting divorced because her husband cheated on her.

This is the pre-shift mindset. They correction, which was needed, over-corrected to now be more ‘focus on the girls’ to the determent of the boys.

Is JJ interrupting a teacher in the middle of class? Not cool.

Some times we try so hard not to show favoritism we end up actually alienating those we are trying not to favor. Best to just treat all the same and let others work out how we are doing.

To recap: Boys are favored for centuries. Then, for about a couple of years, girls get a bit more attention, and suddenly it’s UNFAIR! UNFAIR!

I spent my entire professional career in education and have always been amused by people who would never dream of second-guessing their doctors, ministers, or auto mechanics but nonetheless feel that they are experts in education because they once went to school themselves.

And they really Believe it when they say that.
