even it wasn’t going to rain, why did he have an umbrella anyway? was he planning to parachute down a cliff therewith?

ah…. to be a kid again

Well it’s gonna get hot soon so why not?

When life gives you rain, make and umbrella pool.

Wouldn’t the spines on that umbrella be a tad ………………. uncomfortable?

A pleasant surprise. I have the complete Calvin and Hobbes hardcover collection, and rarely come across a strip I don’t remember. But this doesn’t look familiar at all. I like how the umbrella is about as tall as Calvin himself. I wonder if it was his Mom’s idea that he took it with him.

I hope that"s not Dad"s umbrella.

It’s too bad we all eventually move past such easy pleasures.

Alternative ways to make the best out of a situation.

Creative re-purposing.

Thinking out side the box when you are outside in the rain, is a good thing.

What an inventive mind! Many ADD kids are.

This is the same kid who loathes taking a bath. Go figure.

No way would I ever do this in my life. Not even when I was Calvin’s age.

I like his use of the umbrella.

Making the most of the situation. You go, Calvin!

One degree kalvin wet his pants. Pants wetter. Peed his pants. Wet the bed. Hah, ha, ha!

Life. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Calvin is always thinking out of the box.

My niece had three boys and I overheard her talking to her sisters- “Boys really ARE different. They do things girls would never think of.” It’s too bad that political correctness has robbed us of this and many more gems of common sense like this.

My “Calvin” kid would have had all his clothes off in a flat instant. Then he’d have begun the splash bit.

That’s one way of getting Calvin to take a bath for sure!

If you have to question the logic of a first grader perhaps you would be better satisfied with another comic such as Pickles

I’d love to do that, when I find an umbrella that size! :D
