Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Seriously, is it really the time for this? The place is about to flood out, the water is about to hit the second floor, cant they put their heads together for a moment and find out a solution to the problem at hand? Wait, what am I thinking? Thatll never happen.
You know what would work real well, Thick? Taunt him! Call him a disgusting, worthless, bloodthirsty psycho! Tell him that his mother wears army shoes! Show him what youâre made of, Thick ⌠or just wait a minute and heâll open you up and show us what youâre made of!
This is like the ending of âBrides of Dracula,â where a vampire is trapped in an abandoned windmill with a deranged, self-righteous vampire hunter. The vampire attacks the hunter by swinging a chain. The hunter escapes by setting the windmill on fire. Itâs raining heavily (while everywhere else, itâs frickinâ snowing) so donât be surprised if Locher has the granary burn to the ground.
Yes, Thick, the chains were securely et cetera. But you overlooked the Floating Hand! After it tickled your ear the other day it stole the keys, undid the locks, and is now helping Morbid to twirl the chain.
@Ludwig: Samâs âgood newsâ will turn out to be yet another totally out-of-the-blue red herring that makes little sense, gets mentioned about twice, then never comes into play again.
If they were smart, which they arenât, theyâd go outside where the water is still below the first floor. Only Locher would have the FBI hand over a prisoner to be transported without handcuffs. And some people wonder why we poke fun at it!
Slylock Fox and Max Mouse make a heckuva lot more sense than this doesâŚâŚ and itâs written for kids!
Now we know why the Locher Mess Monster dragged this out so long. He was waiting for the chains to rust away. Whatâs left of them will explode into powder, leaving Merde to stand their with an embarrassed look on his mask. Which Iâm guessing he still has on, because taking it off would make sense.
When Sam announced there was good news, he also said the storm was getting stronger. Maybe he was getting some signal from their radio, or had found out Tracyâs prisoner isnât the real one. Heâs one of the decoys and will now save Tracy if he isnât too ticked off about the whole experience of almost drowning, etc.
If he could take them off any time he wanted then why did he keep begging to have them removed? Weâve been waiting weeks (it feels like months) for this development?
Some might think you are ungreatful. Look at the beautiful car wrecking sequence Locher has given us. And a frigtening grannery where vampire bats may nest under the roof of the top floor
Perhaps Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are just up there hanging, waiting for nightfall to come - to feast !
This may be the SURPRISE ending of Tracy and Mordred that Locher secretly has in store for us ?
Sam will âshake a legâ by month end and drive out to find Tracy. What heâll find are body carcases. The story will end like Annie, with a question unanswered âŚ
Iâve looked ahead. You can all go to sleep for another week. Except for one outrageous âgood newsâ item and one Tracy âaction,â it just stretches the strip to its breaking point. It will then be four weeks to bring in the new team. I can hardly wait.
Police grade ammunition, like military loads, are waterproof and should fire after having been immersed in water. Sporting ammo is a different story. It may or may not.
Everybody keeps mentioning Comics Kingdom, I just Googled it and found http://www.comicskingdom.com/ which led me to http://www.newsok.com/entertainment/comics?feature_id=Dick_Tracy. Cant seem to find next weeks strips. However I noticed something else. It appears that in panel 2, either Mordred has changed into a suit or its Tracy twirling the chain. Panel 3, Tracy dodges. Apparently Mordred is wearing a suit just like Tracy.
Maybe todayâs comic is Samâs good news. His unbridled ambition to climb the ladder without actively kicking his co-workers in the teeth. Outta the way, Thick, Sam Ketchup is here!

NVash, itâs there. I wish I hadnât found it, but it is there. I saw 2 weeks worth thatâs coming. The earth ainât gonna move. I promise. Same crud.
I checked it out morrow. Im sad to say it but it does get a little interesting but it also starts making even less sense and gets worse. Are they trying to go for a record of worst storyline ever here?
How far in advance are strips usually done? I never knew they were done at least two weeks beforehand.
If you want to really blow your mind, on Comics Kingdom viewer click Tracy and The Phantom on the same page, one above the other. While Tracy has been conversing with Moldred for some month, the Phantom has rescued Diana, taken her to a place of rest and recovery, rounded up several bad guys and deposited them with the authorities. And all was done with great artistic work.

Shiver Me Timbers - How did you get out those chains???
Mordred - I am really âDavid Copperfieldâ
Is it Whoosh or Froome????
Bill Thompson about 14 years ago
Whoa! Morass trimmed Thickâs fingernails right down to the knuckles!
It looks like he slipped out of his restraining suit, but the odds are heâs still wearing his mask.
Now if Thick insists enough that the chains, locks and cuffs were secure, will Mordred suddenly agree that heâs right and lock himself up again?
Vista Bill Raley and Comet⢠about 14 years ago
Would a pair of handcuffs done a better job than 40 lbs. of chains?
Midnite about 14 years ago
Look at panel 3. Look at Mordreds hand. Didnt he have on gloves? Whend he take them off?
margueritem about 14 years ago
His hands have been free for quite some timeâŚ

And I had high hopes that this âLove Affairâ would
be the real thing.
Too bad it has to end in âDomestic Violenceâ

If Spacy was a âsmart cookieâ he would have put handcuffs on the countryâs most dangerous criminal. Thatâs how the cookie crumbles.
Bill Thompson about 14 years ago
What happened to the background? Seriously, werenât they in a building or something? When did their world turn into an arctic whiteout?
FLIGHT SUIT about 14 years ago
This totally reminds me of how that one animal on Noahâs ark got out of its chains and started twirling them around and attacking Noah.

Havenât commented on this comic in a while. So can I just say:
sigh. used to be sooo much better.
jonahhex1 about 14 years ago
That chain will merit Modred nothingâŚ.heâs forgotten Tracy has proven he has SUPER STRENGTH and still has a GUN.
Unless of course Tracy screwed up and lost his firearm again.

I have an idea! Why donât you stand there marveling at how he got out of those chains and wait for him to start whomping you with them?
If only there were a policeman in the buildingâŚ.

Maybe Samâs good news is that the storm is abating.
steveyorkdesigns about 14 years ago
Wow, something almost happened today!
Dr. Midnight about 14 years ago
Suddenly, four flat tires fall from the sky, hitting Mordred right on the head and knocking him out! Tracy is victorious again!
Araldite about 14 years ago
Obviously those chains were not locked securely. Get over it and move on to defending yourself.

Dick, nowâs the time to pull out your gun.

Any modern firearm will still fire after being briefly immersed in water. However, Tracy is packing a muzzle loader.

This might have been a good story, if told within one week of strips.

I looked ahead on Comics Kingdom.
On Monday, Locher can give us only two panels.
On Sunday, Sam says something and then on Thursday, Lizz asks a question in which Sam gave Lizz the info to on Sunday. Lizz must be blonde.
So, the quality of writing continues downhill next week.
