There’s a Puck update complete with beautiful photo of Puck and Goldie on Georgia’s Instagram page. Probably on her Facebook page, too. I’d post a link, but that’s what got my post removed yesterday. So, I’ll just quote the most important part in Georgia’s own words. “I’m very happy to report that Puck is pretty much 100% back to his regular little self!”
Georgia is always showing the locations from different points of view, but I am finding the last panel today confusing. I can’t decide if I am seeing a mirror behind Puck that shows the laundry room or if he and Beatrix are in some sort of other room that has a pass thru opening into the laundry room????
OMC, this just reminded me of when my wife(she’s disabled) and I were volunteering at our local shelter. We were in a play room with 3 kittens, when they decided to use her walker, tubular aluminum, as a jungle gym. Hilarity ensued, and I did get one of those "hang in there " pictures of a kitten hanging by it’s paws. One , calico, a future Puck, climbed all over that walker like she owned it. T’was a fun time!
I’m so happy to post that my dear boy is feeling much better! He’s been much more active and alert this week, and happy to see his dinner … he even cleaned up the plain kibble that we leave out for snacking while I was preparing the dish topped with wet food! It’s such a relief to see him acting like himself again. I really thought that we would have to let him go this week; I can’t bear that thought, but if one is merely enduring, life is not a gift but a curse.
Good news to start the morning! I posted this yesterday but it was rather late. From Georgia on Facebook “I’m very happy to report that Puck is pretty much 100% back to his regular little self! He stopped having tummy troubles a couple of days ago and his energy came back in full force yesterday. I even had to shoo him away from some People-lunch he was trying to pocket. He’s back to hopping up onto windowsills”
Jasper update: He didn’t do as well coming out of anesthesia this time. He is just now coming around back to normal but not really wanting to eat. He did eat yesterday once but I need to get him to eat today to give him his medicine. After the X-rays it seems that his bones in his leg have not healed but he has been walking like normal until a few days ago. The X-rays showed no signs of calcification, meaning no signs of healing at all in the past 6 months. He vet sent his X-rays over to the ortho doc and I am waiting to hear back from him now. My poor baby. The vet said she has no idea how he has been walking and running on that leg since he is now 180lbs and 2 bones have shattered tips. Even a 12lb dog should have had trouble and most of Jasper’s weight is in his chest so it sits right over his leg. Leash walks and a diet for him.
The last few days a beautiful long-haired golden tabby has been hanging around the front porch annoying Lilly. We think it must have been abandoned because a feral would never have let us get close enough to pet this quickly. And yes, my daughter Jora and I have both pet it several times. We are still calling it it because we haven’t been able to check the plumbing. Well, we aren’t actually call it IT. In keeping with the computer names of the other kitties, Database and Reboot, this one has been named Router. I guess we are a 4 kitty household now. The next step will be a flea collar.

Ignore the finish line. That’s probably really good advice in any situation!

I’ve always thought of cats as much smarter than wise. Since Puck is real, the last panel may prompt re-evaluation. “Just ignore the finish line!”
