As many people predicted yesterday, Lucian didn’t make out alive. Now, the police are no farther ahead in determining who hired Lucian. The cop killing seems to be the number one priority of the police now, though.
Now that the hitter is history they are left with picking suspects and following any leads. Since this is the mastermind who can hire other hitters for whatever reason he has been choosing to kill police. And even worse if that was the last one. He or she could fade into the woodwork. A most dangerous time for the master mind. The police are worked up and ready to shoot.
Think it’ll turn out to be the policewoman’s widower who hired the cop-killer? No clues that I’ve noticed, just seems like a “twist” they’d come up with…
Love the retro artwork today!! The gunfire and the character design of the bad guy in panel 3 remind me a lot of the Marvel Mystery Comics covers by Alex Schomburg.
What attention to detail. In the second panel the weapon lying on the ground next to a dead Lucian, has it’s slide back and locked, indicating Lucian fired every round the weapon held at the time of the shooting. In the first panel, it appears some of the officers are firing revolvers.
Wow! That is some serious Stupid, a pro hitman taking on a whole squad of cops (panel 1). Kinda reminds me of Brando getting shot to pieces in Viva Zapata when he is treacherously ambushed by the federales.
Tracy’s mob-busting ways again call to mind the Ness approach in the Untouchables; but will he ever ferret out the mastermind this way? I still “like” Hart for that part….

Good morning™, casino crashers !
Despite not even seeing so much as a blemish on the man’s clothing this is the best example of shooting I think I have seen in years.

Tracy must have just been moved to plainclothes division – the hat and coat are gray. (Curiously, the original color of The Hulk…)

Did Tracy borrow a hat and coat from Pat? Because a yellow hat and coat is his trademark.
