As Caulfield from Frazz observed, properly folding a fitted sheet is “a lot of exasperating, time-consuming work that, even if you do get it just right, nobody will ever see in that form anyway.”

Isn’t the way you “fold” a fitted sheet is by rolling it up in a bedroll? :-)

Opal do you want help or not ? Tis only a sheet that should of not been purchased in the first place. Regular sheets are easier to use and don’t have corners for stuff to hide in ;-)

I hate those “ let’s talk about how you do things wrong even when you help me” conversations.

I never have trouble with fitted sheets. That wadded up little ball of cloth looks just fine to me.

Trying to fold sheets is so frustrating! My Mom does it perfectly in 30 seconds. It takes me five minutes and it still looks a mess!

Shut up, Opal. If he’s helping at all, he’s exceeded your expectations.

I’ve never had a problem folding fitted sheets once I learned the trick. Google it and watch a video.

Hubby can fold four bath towels four different ways, and they still turn out the same dimensions, so they fit into the closet. He helps, and that’s all that counts.

Does Opal ever stop her condescending conversations to Earl? If she’s so anal about how he folds the laundry, then she needs to do it herself, MRS PERFECTIONIST! Why can’t she just RELAX and enjoy life? NAG NAG NAG…..

When you stretch it out there are no wrinkles… so why worry about folding it? Just wad it up like I do…

If Opal is so concerned about how fitted sheets are folded, she should do it herself instead of criticizing Earl. Those that don’t do…do NOT criticize those that do.

I can fold a fitted sheet and often mention this to my family. Very often. And they are sooooo unimpressed. I must mention it again.

Fitted sheets are the enemy! In the middle of the night, the corner pops off and the elastic attacks you.

I found the suppressed-rage-sit-on-it-to-get-rid-of-the-lumps method works best.

And good luck finding a sheet set that includes 2 flat sheets. It’s not even that easy to find flat sheets sold separately.

Laundry folding is one of the skills I still can impress my children with – especially when it comes to fitted sheets.

It’s very interesting how Mr. Crane so frequently makes Opal the stereotypical nagging female villain and how it incites hateful comments toward her shrewish character…which is in reality being created by the mind of a man. I see what you’re doing there, Brian. ;-)

A sheet for all seasonsAnother anonymous terrorist blog™ Probably by© C.W. CharlesIt all began innocently enough after I had read a cartoon with a gag about fitted sheets. Grandma had given Grandpa a fitted sheet and told him to fold it. He did. But, naturally, the sheet immediately unfolded and Grandma proceeded to comment upon Grandpa’s intelligence.Crazy, I thought and mentioned to my wife that there was no need to ever fold fitted sheets. You merely wash them, dry them, and stick them back on the mattress. When they wear out, you simply take out the spare, already folded and packaged by slave labor in a country you have never heard of, and slap it on. Then, buy a new back up set to stick in the drawer. It was a perfect system that met all my standards. In accordance with my consistent failure to meet the spouse’s expectations, I was wrong again. It seems Martha Stewart had given a program on folding fitted sheets!! And, she had watched it! I mean, people actually watched Martha Stewart’s program about folding fitted sheets…Hokey smokes, Bullwinkle! There must be 500 channels and somebody watches every single one. Truly, this is a sign of the apocalypse, the imminent Second Coming, for certain! I’ll be surely damned.Anyhow, the spouse says other people have many different sheets and bed coverings, sheets for all seasons! Because, other people have nicer houses with more storage for all these accouterments…Uh, oh… I was afraid the I should have married a doctor instead of you subject would be broached again. Her parents had many times told her to marry a doctor instead of me.I truly believed they prayed I would be killed in a car crash or something so their daughter could marry a doctor the second time as she truly deserved.
