No more election news for me! We in India just re-elected the Fascists with almost the same majority. Many of them are religiously motivated terrorists facing trial. We are going to see another round of prosecution withdrawals.
Both parties in this country are inept. Nothing gets done but this fake fighting. Why don’t we all quit falling for it. It’s there way of controlling us.
The Icelandic parliament is boring and I’ve sometimes thought it would be alot more interesting if it were like what I’ve seen from some other European countries, where people get into fights and throw chairs at each other (hopefully without anybody getting seriously hurt). As an example of how boring it is, there were some MPs together at a bar and they started badmouthing MPs from other parties. Somebody recorded it on their phone and it got published in the media. That was in November, and it’s still in the news.
The Caning of Charles Sumner, or the Brooks–Sumner Affair, occurred on May 22, 1856, in the United States Senate when Representative Preston Brooks (D-SC) used a walking cane to attack Senator Charles Sumner (R-MA), an abolitionist, in retaliation for a speech given by Sumner two days earlier in which he fiercely criticized slaveholders, including a relative of Brooks. The beating nearly killed Sumner and it drew a sharply polarized response from the American public on the subject of the expansion of slavery in the United States. It has been considered symbolic of the “Breakdown of reasoned discourse”1 that eventually led to the American Civil War.
I’m disappointed, Stephan. You could just as easily have Maxine Waters or Katie Porter kick both guys in the hoo-haws. And with pointy heels, it would hurt worse.
Nothing new here, nor under the sun, Pig. Get used to it, ’cause the Real Nasty World is not some snowflakey romantic comedy. If it bites, bite back….
I’m not going to read the other 84 comments before I say this, but it hasn’t gotten that bad here … yet. Can’t say I wouldn’t like to see AOC in a cat-fight with a conservative lady, especially if clothing was optional …
I wish that were true; we haven’t had a really good donnybrook in either house of Congress since the 19th century, and it would make C-SPAN a lot more entertaining.

Wrong! It’s British Parliament. And that’s no guy kicking hoo-haws there, it’s Theresa May getting her pound of flesh before making a Brexit.
