If they had been sitting there for a full year, someone would have eaten them by now. Did she just now put them out and why?

I think it’s time to refill the candy dish with some non-sticky candy. Maybe with Three Musketeers miniatures?

What’s this “may I have one” crap Earl? Take as many as you want and I see you did.

Opal is all in today, even sporting her Easter bunny slippers. Easter is an underrated holiday, way less hype and you still get candy, brunch, cards, etc. (and BTW the promise of eternal life).

Why would you put out EXTREMELY old candy, Opal? Was it because you knew that Earl would want them and you just thought this would be a fun way to torture him?

We have the same problem after Halloween and Christmas. So far, nobody has expired from eating very old candy.

For me they can stay in the bowl till hell freezes over. Do not like jelly beans. Now all the other candy listed in other comments i would be all over that.

Eew, gross! They’re all stuck together. If she’d spray the dish, candy left as is, with that clear lacquer in all the nook and crannies I think it would be a great covered candy dish!!! And she would be one up on Earl, which I know she is keen to be!!!

Reminds me of the leftover popcorn balls from Christmas that my grandmother handed out the following Halloween! At least they were wrapped in colorful cellophane.

    Just getting good.

We had some candy pumpkins (like candy corn but different shape, same material). It sat out in the open for probably ten years before I thought to eat it.

Just as good as ever (or as bad if you don’t like that kind of thing)!!

When I was a little tad, Mom had a paper maché Easter Rabbit who had a backpack which held one of those tiny paper cups. It would appear around Easter, and as long as the kids offered it to all visitors it remained full of jelly beans. As soon as someone got selfish, though, it would go away until next Easter. My little brothers made me crazy because they weren’t old enough to understand, so I only got a few days of jelly beans. Despite explaining it to them in no uncertain terms. Smart lady, my mom.
