Pretty high knee action there, unless you’re about to encounter a hurdle.

Progress from month to month works like that. See at the advancement compared to the previous period of time and you will stay happy.

There are periods in life when many people can find activities to keep them involved whether weather or not. It doesn’t work for everyone at ever age.

I like the facial hair on the elderly onlooker. It looks like he’s not quite done eating a gerbil.

I’ll concede 10 best months. I never got too excited over January and February…

Silly Frazz: you know there’s only 11 best months in the year, since April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.

It’s optimism out of control, that’s what I’m going to claim. You get your hands on something wonderful, and you think there is somehow going to be an even more wonderful day to use it in the future. So you save it. And it’s not like that wonderful day never comes; it’s more like the wonderful day does come, so you think, well, there must be an even more wonderful day on the way, and the moment passes. The cookies get stale, the shirt goes out of style, the olive oil turns rancid. And you wonder if using a thing up too fast is maybe better than having it too long.

Whatever it is, I’ve got a long, unfortunate history of it. And when I saw a version of the old advice about don’t pickle things, it struck a nerve, and I knew I had to adapt it for comic strip use.

    Right away.
