The girls have apparently had a very busy day out. Let’s see: they went for a swim, went to a movie, had lunch with Kandikane Lane, toured Diet Smith’s museum, and now they’re on their way to dinner at the hotel. At this rate of going, they’ll be burned out before the end of the summer!

I don’t think my local Kroger has that many toothbrushes so prominently displayed. There must be a dental convention in town.

And what is the collective noun for toothbrush? No doubt toothbrushes is correct, but I don’t care for it, it’s common, and plain.

Teethbrushers?

Brushers for teeth?

Devices for the brushing of teeth?

Dental cleansing devices?

Oral hygiene appliances!

Could this clerk be the supposedly missing Trixie? Or, another “associate” of “Daddy” Warbucks “competitors” helping to try and kidnap Annie…again?

Each year about 2500 people go to emergency rooms to be treated because of injuries caused by using a toothbrush—most injuries happen when a fall occurs while brushing.

So if there’s a murder—Annie could be culpable with her new toothbrush!

The headband on Annie makes her hair look like a circus clown wig. Is her money going to her head? She seems awfully interested in her “look.” I always thought Annie was too wise-beyond-her-years to fall for clothing fads and lavish living.

Either this is a pointless diversion, or it has some point. If it has some point, I expect that the cute gift shop clerk will turn out to be a player in The Game. I kinda doubt that she is either Trixie Tinkle-Warbucks or Gypsy Gay, though; she seems too young. Maybe Gypsy’s daughter? Maybe (whether or not related to any of the characters so far named) tied to B-B Eyes’ gang and about to snitch on the Young Detectives?

Something—anything—, I hope. Otherwise, what are we doing in the Gift Shop? Just buying a toothbrush?!

One of the worst things about this arc so far is the color of Annie’s hair. It should not be brown. I know that the creators of the strip do not color the dailies but this obvious error is distracting to what the creators have written and drawn. If the colorist simply went to an old Annie Sunday strip posted on this site, they would see the proper color is not brown. If I can see it, why can’t the colorist?

Should we be concerned if the girls ask for the prophylactics aisle ?
