Of course you would get a second hand high, so it wouldn’t matter how slow the turtle was.

No matter. He’s had illegal buds stashed in his shell for years. That’s why he’s so GREEN for a desert tortoise.

H3LL. If they did “legalize it” they’d just TAX the daylights out of it. Like they do EVERYTHING else……..,

I am being serious here. Let anyone who wants to use drug do so. Let them use as much as they want and do not help them when they over dose, jump off a building, or do anything else to harm themselves. Only stop them when they attempt to hurt a normal sane person. Otherwise, let them go. When they die, just burn their bodies. Saves money on the rest of us, allowing the police to concentrate protecting who should be protected.

A turtle walks into a police station and says to the desk sergeant, “I was mugged by two snails.” The sergeant says “can you tell me what happened?” and the turtle says, “I don’t know. It all happened so fast.”

I had a friend whose driving was extremely cautious because of his marijuana usage. If he could see a car anywhere in the distance, he wouldn’t pull out on the road. Many a drunk or tipsy driver would pull out ten feet in front of you.

In that regard, Mark was safer than a drinker. Years later he quit using dope, ran off the road, smashed into a concrete culvert, killed himself. I wondered ever since if he would have done that had he remained stoned.

(To be clear, he was pretty much useless while smoking, couldn’t think worth a flip, so even as cautious as he was, he might have still been dangerous and couldn’t work with any real understanding. Others here assure us they function just fine. Me not know, never tried either.)

Since there are so many arguments to be made on both sides, I’m just glad the issue is finally being returned to the States.

I do hope it will be at least available by prescription everywhere. I’ve known too many people with medical issue treatable by MJ extracts unable to get them in their state. (The funniest is Marinol, which is an appetite enhancer to help people eat more – making use that much ridiculed side effect of pot smoking. http://www.marinol.com/)

One thing is for certain, it is not in any way a Class 1 drug. Not even close! That’s just plain stupid. It shows a lot about what the attitude is concerning cannabis.

No one even THINKS that the tortoise might not be interested in marajuana? Just because something is legal doesn’t meant that everyone is suddenly REQUIRED to use it. Alcohol, tobacco, and coffee are all legal, but I don’t partake of any of them (I have enough problems), nor do many others. Nor do I ever intend to use marajuana unless I develop a medical need for it.

Just like John the Tortoise, I hope.

There are no laws, the old ones are gone with the people who died out from the horrible heat and violent storms. These new people are tougher and built to survive it. The education machines and the intelligence enhancing brain parasite does the rest.

It occurs to me that if consciousness-altering substances were used in prehistoric times, it might have been to gain wisdom or spiritual insights, and would have been supervised by experienced shamans. Carlos Castaneda did a study of the use of peyote among the Yacqui Indians with Don Juan Matus as his guide. That led to Castaneda’s doctoral dissertation, his book “Journey to Ixtlan.”
