You can’t just sit around and wait, tough guy? What makes you any better than the rest of us? If we can take it, so can you! Now get back in Police Hooters and vegetate like the dickweed you are!
But you know what? This strip could use some action! Real action! Like a fan riot! A riot is an ugly thing… undt, I tink, that it is chust about time ve had vun! (Someone had to pay tribute to the late Kenneth Mars, whose Inspector Kemp had more creativity in one line than Locher showed in his entire life.)
This is the ninth time that image in Panel #1 has appeared since 12 January. If the Guiness Book had a record for artistic laziness, Locher would win the recognition he deserves.
Will Locher remember the AWACS plane that’s magically searching for Thick? If so, will he remember that since all communications are out, there’s no way Testicle Chin will ever know if the Air Force located Thick?
Okay, so the storm is intensifying around the granary. Is it intensifying anywhere else? Will Testicle Chin discover Thick when this granary-centered storm sucks him in, turning Thick and Morbid’s tryst into a menage a trois?
Dag nab it, I like the AMC Pacer! Now thanks to Locher, if I ever manage to get myself one, I’ll be afraid to drive it in public for fear that people are going to make fun of my chin which, by the way, is not the least bit testicular in appearance.
I hate you, Dick Locher. And your little dog, too.

Not only that, today is the first of three days in a row that panel appears as Panel One! He’s got the record you mentioned, now he’s going for most CONSECUTIVE days of said laziness.
Wasn’t that an AMC Pacer that was driving by Tracy’s House last year, when the rock with note was thrown through Tracy’s window, and Tracy fired out his windpw endangering his neighbors? Perhaps Sam isn’t as big an ally to Tracy as we think he is.

Mattaden65 has some good questions, but one more question:
Why aren’t Sam and all the other cops out doing their job in the emergency, rescuing people in need of rescuing, instead of sitting around the station twiddling their thumbs and worrying about one of their number they haven’t heard from for a while because all communications are out? They have a lot more to worry about than that, in the storm of the century.
Sam has apparently stolen Lady Penelope’s amphibious Rolls-Royce from the old Thunderbirds puppet show. Which, of course, means he’s got somebody’s hand up his…
A friend of mine used to own a Pacer…it was a good little car but yeah, it did kind of resemble a terrarium…or a space ship. With all the windows, I hope Sam isn’t driving one. I don’t know about other cities, but here in Billings, MT the police force drive Fords. (I guess they haven’t heard the Found On Road Dead and other Ford jokes…)
Yes, real police cars are usually Ford Crown Victorias (including the so-called “unmarked cars” which makes them pretty easy to spot, but that’s another story).
The Pacer was a perfectly good car mechanically; it just looked too weird for the public taste. It was last made in 1980, and it was a compact car, too small for a police car.
Whether it’s a Pacer, an amphibious Rolls, the Popemobile, or a Crown Victoria, it’s a golden oldie…either that, or Sam (short for Samdumb?) never got retrained in driving a car with airbags, in which case if he gets in a collision he’s going to end up with broken wrists and his thumbs in his eyes.

So what kind of car is Sam sitting around in?
Based on the curvature of the B pillar and windows, and based on the very high ceiling, I believe he is sitting around in an AMC Pacer.
Let’s hope he doesn’t attempt any power approaches.

If I know Spacy, Sam thinks, he’ll head for the nearest old granary Let’s see, where’s my Old Granary Directory?

How many times has this storm intensified????
Any stronger and this Granary will lift off of the ground.
When it comes back down in the Land of Oz, Mordred will be thrown out a window at the last minute and the Granary will land on him.
The Munchkins will arrest Tracy for killing Mordred with a building.
P.S. - Have a couple of stiff drinks before reading Friday and Saturday’s panels.
Oh, what the hell, drink the whole bottle first!!!!

This had Got to be spiced up. With Mardi Gras just three weeks away, parades are rolling.
So lets listen to The Wild Magnolias (gotta be better than this story)

31/2 Simple questions that cannot possibly be answered.
1) How does Sam even know where to begin looking for Spacy?
2) Is Sam driving a boat? How could he get through the newly formed lake without one?
3) Why would Sam go out in the storm without any way to communicate?
This story is Locher’s way of giving us all the finger at the end. BRILLIANT!!

That might not be an old AMC Pacer. Have Pacers ever been used for police cars, even when they were new? It’s probably a flying saucer.

It’s also about the ninth time he’s tightened his tie after loosening it.
I’m glad to see Sam finally figured out how to put on his all-weather gear (AKA - coat).
