    Yipes! No wonder Elephant Man referrred Wally to Ravenscroft.

    And is that Duff’s little brother?

    Still waiting to see a lizard lady or bird boy…

    Huh, so that’s what Wally looks like with shoes. Definitely adds a touch of civilization, heh.

    A well written update on the famous Shakespearean quote:

    (from As You Like It, spoken by Jacques)

    All the world’s a stage,

    And all the men and women merely players;

    As I recall, Wally built a contraption not terribly unlike that mousetrap in order to bag a topsider transport. He also used explosives (a hand grenade) to help he and Holly escape Endtown. Not really all that dissimilar….. ;-)

    Wonder how Wally feels about all the (additional) grief he’s getting from Holly in this comic book?

    Wally is an Engineer, and not just the pencil and paper type. Holly does like cheese, recalling the banquet on the Opabina Queen. It looks like Alan is an important character as well. Hopefully we will see him again.

    While we know it’s not so, you know, this would be a good way to just end the story!

    (Yes, I know it ain’t so, the story goes on – but if it had to end today, this is as good a place as any to end it)

    I love the use of halftoning and the miss-aligned toning on the explosion. Very authentic touches.

    I wonder why he needs the gloves to handle the comic, is this some AR deal, or perhaps did the topsider suit (along with the comic) drop out of a parallel dimension, that requires him to use the bits and pieces to manipulate the comic?

    I think the explanation is not too difficult: Those who created the mutagenic virus knew these comics an thought it to be funny to give the mutants the shapes of the comic figures. The topsiders then would be typical 1950s parents who mostly hated comics. Watch out for a Roadrunner.

    At first I thought, Duffy’s a dad?! But looking closer, pretty sure it’s Duffy and his little brother.

    @NeuroManson: HOLY CRAP that’s it!!! I think I’m close!

    OK, so the Amesworth radiation, as I’ve theorized before, has weakened the barrier between dimensions, so that “regular earth” and “cartoon animal earth” are intermingling, that is to say, COEXISTING, so that a “regular” person becomes their “cartoon animal” counterpart in this new, blended dimension.

    The Topsider’s biosuits don’t protect them from a mutagenic virus, because there isn’t one, as we learned in September 2016.

    No, the suit allows them to exist in another dimension without being affected by it.

    No one has realized this yet, which is why everyone thinks it’s a virus that’s changing everyone…

    So, the topsider glasses and gloves allow you to see and interact in the cartoon dimension.

    Of course, Dittos aren’t from either world, they escaped from the Lucranian salvage vessel that crashed (again, September 2016).

    As for the invisible Topsider, I think they are near a particularly strong spot in the barrier—weak enough to cross over, but not weak enough to be seen…

    Let’s see, what else…? Ah, yes…Schism Syndrome…some people don’t make a smooth transition from one dimension to the other because of how different the two dimensions are, and those folks become the “monsters” we’ve seen (think being “splinched” in Harry Potter). Well, Schism Syndrome is another side effect of not completely changing. The victim’s mind can see both dimensions at the same time…of course that would appear in either dimension to be insanity…
