YES, we have no bananas ,we have no bananas, today…..pull 2 ripe off a bunch, 2 almost ripe ones off another and 2 green ones…Need a peach or pear to ripen? Put them in a bag with 2 or 3 ripening bananas. The bananas have chemical gas the helps ripen other fruits
I always kept bananas in the fridge. They turned brown on the outside, but they didn’t get overripe before I could eat them. The only time I kept them on the counter was when I wanted them to get overripe for banana bread.
We used to get extra bananas, peel them and put into freezer bags the right amount for each recipe, they will get nice and “Over Ripe/Blackened” and be Great for Bread/Muffins,etc. (Not Pudding) No Hassle or Spoilage.
Wife tends to “over-buy” the bananas..and I’m admittedly guilty of the same-“crime” with seasonal-tomatoes. (Out-of-season, I’ll “overstock” on the whole-canned version. Rip-open a can on a winters’-day, salt, an’ eat-‘em like they was tater-chips…’cept-better, least I think so?) ☺
“Nah, you eat too much garbage as it is. I’m giving them to the neighbors. From now on, no bananas. We’ll take potassium supplements instead. They never go bad!”

While I do like a good loaf of banana bread, how about slicing the bananas into little disks and put them in the dehydrator for chips?

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or, cut them in 1/2 (w/ peels on) and freeze then for smoothies for daily potassium.
