When fitted sheets first debuted, I remember reading the instructions about folding on the back of the package. (Does anyone remember Canon Linens?). I was in grade school at the time. I remembered the instructions and never had a problem when it was my turn to fold. This is going back maybe 50 years ago. The technique never changed. Tuck the four edges inside one another, form into a rectangle, then fold the rectangle. Works every time.
First, fold the sheet in half. Then tuck the “pockets” into one another on each corner. Then bring the bottom half up to meet the top half. Then tuck those pockets back in again. Then fold from right to left, then bottom to top. Now wad it into a ball and shove it in the closet.
Next assignment: figure out how to avoid a ball of damp clothes caught in the fitted corner as you remove the otherwise dry fitted sheet from the dryer.

I must be in the minority. I’ve known how to fold a fitted sheet for decades.

Next he will need to master the art of getting the fitted sheet onto the mattress in one go. Sometimes the corners will just not cooperate.

Please, teach this mortal how to do it.

That would be a handy spell in the Harry Potter world.

No matter how it’s done, it will have to do…as long as they fit in the space in the linen closet.

Lacking a wand, I learned to do that long ago. Hint-observe how the factory did it when you unwrap a new one.

It does not take magic-just a bit of dexterity and patience.

Who folds a fitted sheet? Wash it and put it back on the bed. Job done.
