Yes, this story could have been about the struggles of autistic or maybe even gay students in high school. But instead we are giving you another bearded bad guy who is going to do something cartoonishly evil to an innocent student to get what he wants. At least with the various uncles seeking money or fame their actions were understandable, but this latest bad beard guy is going to hurt the bookish Chance in the pathetic hope to be called “Dad?”
