I’d love to sneak into her house unexpectedly. I am convinced this is a case of ‘do as I say, not as I do’. Obviously the hobbyist has to have more material available than would ‘spark joy’. But when it must be done it can be done, I parted with 7/8ths of my jewelry making supplies gathered over a 6 year period ( in the good old days of eBay when you could score 14+ pounds of supplies for less than $100, shipping free.) It was hard, I saved so little but it still takes up a decent chunk of closet space. It was 3 1/2 6′×4′×2′ metal shelving units stuffed full.

Is Maria crying out for help? Or is this an allegory of the condition our society is in today?

Marie Kondo’s book doesn’t “spark joy” in me, but I can’t get rid of it, because I’ve never even seen a copy.
