How ironic (and prophetic) considering that this is from 1972. This could have been written today: thereâs no mention of Thanksgiving Day and all the emphasis is on âgettingâ rather than giving. Sallyâs twisted concept of âChristmasâ fits right in with todayâs self-entitlement and materialistic attitudes that seem to be getting more prevalent.
Sally is just expressing every smaller kids idea of Christmas. And very well done, too. Even written in cursive, which most baby boomers didnât learn to write until 4th or fifth grade.

1972, eh? For some reason, I imagined that brainless expressions like âLike, wow!â came years later, in the 1980s or so. Did Sally start it?

Sally needs to talk to her âsweet babooâ about Christmas. Didnât Linus play a shepherd in the Charlie Brown Christmas play?

Hmm must be an emphasis on giving if the artist had to mention it twice in a row

Iâm with Sally on this one. The true spirit of Christmas is one of selfishness and greed.

Hopefully, she gets it before she grows up and becomes a full-blown diva. Or, maybe it was a grownup version of her that sang: âSanta Babyâ
