Peering through a half-opened eye, Frisk sees a feather floating down in front of her high above the city’s rooftops (well, maybe not above the tallest ones).
This is even more dramatic than yesterday. I like it very much.
Oh no. It’s the dastardly diabolical devilish demonic dangerous villain, The Black Crow! And his minion crows are perpetually pecking the poor prime protagonist! Oh the merciless maliciousness! Oh the egregious evilness! Oh the maniacal monstrosity! Oh the wanton wickedness! Oh the… Oh wait, sorry. Wrong genre. This ain’t that sort of a superhero comic strip.
I can get the thinking “Ow!” and “What’s that noise?” But I can’t quite figure out why someone would self criticize (“stop it”) for trying to figure out where they are in the dark by listening to what is going on around them around them. Especially when that person is a former police officer turned private investigator.
Quite an interesting symbolism here. I can’t quite figure it out yet, but still, interesting. The feather could be a raven or crow. Awo, or Kâ’lanû Ahkyeli’skï the raven mocker of Cherokee mythology; one who steals the life from the dying could be represented here too.
Okay. I get the “POV” thing and that this Friskie’s view as she regains consciousness. What I do not “get” is the significance of the black (crow or raven?) feather. Or is it just a meaningless existential feather? —In which case the urban backdrop may be significant? Or is it also pointless? And what about the noise in vertical panel 2? Suddenly there came a rapping, as of someone gently tapping, tapping at my crate of horror? ’Splain me this!
