Reminds me of an ambush I once setup in a paintball game as friends were 20 feet from the field exit. I left my hat there. One bent over to pick it up (I was about 10 yards off to the side in the bush) and said “Something’s not right… ambush.” (We’d paintballed together a lot and close friends learn how you think…) So I then immediately started peppering them with .68 full wax jackets (paintballs), but my paintball marker malfunctioned. And boy, I was then the hare as they came for me. Reminds me of how Calvin might have had to flee his dad…
Considering his aim is usually awful (remember Susie just standing as they rained around her without hitting her?) this was a nice change of pace for him (but not for dad).
Don’t sweat it Calvin – your dad won’t do anything to discipline you except maybe make you sit in the corner where you will think up some other devious ways to show no respect to your parents.

Dumb move right before Christmas, Calvin. Santa is still keeping track of who’s naughty or nice (and by Santa, I mean Mom and DAD).

I know it’s only a cartoon and it is cute, but, if I ever pulled a stunt like this my behind would be black and blue…lol

In Calvin’s defense I would have done it too.

Wow. The one time it is least useful his aim is spot on. Welcome to the naughty list, some more.

I admire Calvin’s accuracy. His judgment, not so much.

Not like the stovepipe hats men used to wear…but it’ll have to do.

Maybe a jar of salve is among his presents. He shall soon need it.

Who wears hats to work anymore? That faded out in the 1960s.

From the look of calvin in the second panel I could guess the rest. Hail to Bill!
