Got this message from a friend: A rabbit runs, and hops, and only lives 15 years, while a tortoise doesnât run, and does mostly nothing, yet it lives for 150 years. And they tell us to exercise? I donât think so.
I hate exercise for exerciseâs sake. I do it, but donât get the ârushâ some claim. I used to enjoy working hard, lifting and carrying and such, but just âworking outâ is not enjoyable. So now that Iâm retired, I still do manual labor when necessary but Iâve also kept to a reasonable diet, exercise regularly and so far, have lost over 30 lbs.
Listen to Aunty. I miss being able to exercise. I canât do too much now due to my disability deconditioning me and causing me nonstop pain and exhaustion.

I weigh myself daily. Itâs a lot easier to take off a pound or two when they first get on board then after they have time to âsettle in.â
I do not chase the needle on the scale. Weight will go up and down a pound or two depending mostly on water retention. So I use a 10-day average.
Diet alone has never worked for me. Diet (just cutting back a few calories) and exercise do work. I need the exercise.

My eyes are punishing me for looking at this strip. My empty stomach, OTOH, is grateful.
