We [NE Florida] are currently having a huge mast year of acorns [i.e. tons of them falling from the trees]—it’s a reproductive strategy on the part of the trees, counting on the local squirrels forgetting where they buried all their nuts (or getting killed before they can dig them back up).
My life lately! I cannot find anything I put away or even leave out.
We needed new tires for 1996 van. We went in and priced same and the employee wrote down info on tires and cost as we were in the midst of yet another serial vehicle repair sequence and needed the car to drive while the van was getting the new tires, but it was at mechanic for repair. When we came home I carefully put the tire info aside until we would go for same in 2 days. It was suggested that we get an alignment and I went and took out the lifetime alignment we bought from them in 1999. That took 5 minutes to find in its folder. I never did find the info on the tires again. Easier to find things from long ago than now.

Someone should have re-evaluated Murphy’s job description a long time ago.

If I was a squirrel, that would be me! I’m always forgetting where I put things!

The squirrels around here provide tasty meals for our resident red-tailed hawks.
