20 years ago I used to work near a Jewish deli that seemed like this. It looked like half cow was piled on it. The best part, meat was tender and high quality. Very popular place.

Old line from the comic genius Allen Sherman. He did song parodies, but this was apparently a one-liner that never grew into a full song:

“Do not make a stingy sandwich,

    Pile the cold cuts high.

    Customers should see salami

    Comin’ through the rye.”

To people from other countries, America is the land of big portions.

Mitch Hedberg: I hate sandwiches at New York delis. Too much meat on the sandwich. It’s like a cow with a cracker on either side. “Would you like anything else with the pastrami sandwich?” “Yeah, a loaf of bread and some other people!”

At one of our Mexican restaurants the “Mini Macho” burrito I ordered filled half the plate. Never ordered the Macho.
