Gil Thorp by Henry Barajas and Rachel Merrill for January 03, 2020

There goes Gil abusing his power again. Always able to pull kids out of class whenever it strikes his fancy. At least it was for something super important! To let Chris know that he’s always played the glue role for this team. And from now on he’ll have to play…well…the glue role.

And speaking of roles, I’m playing the role of the sarcastic cartoonist again, and you can see the result in today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

If you are good do less, all you need is to get by, that’s the Milford way!

P1, And that crucial twenty minutes will keep him from being valedictorian and a full-ride scholarship to Harvard. Good job, Gil. Maybe you can help him get into your alma mater, State.

P2, So Gil wants to make him the new Big Ken Brown?

P3, That I’ll have to show you in the showers, Chris.

P1: We have seen this post-chemo emaciated Gil before, looks like Whigham is taking time off again!

P2,3: Gil coaching them up, he hasn’t been pleased with the shower performance of late, needs the veterans to step up

In all reality , it’s that time of year when Mr&Mrs Reality get out of winter by getting on a cruise ship, keep up the snarky comments. Read you in a month .

GilPa needed Chris to suit up to reemphasize his role on the team by pulling him out of class? Not going to increase that 4.0 on the court with that attitude. Wear a cup son. You’re going to be our designated picker and take some charges. And don’t forget you have 5 fouls to give so make’em count.

A step too slow, son, a step too slow. We’re gonna run some, we’re gonna go. Paulist Productions/Insight episode in 1981 with Judge Reinhold getting that talk from the coach.

P4 We need you to lead the team in scoring! I need you in the gym working on your jumper 6 hours a day. (Gil paid off by Alexa)

P 1.5: “…that’s funny…my teacher just told me that I could miss 20 minutes of one of your practices and still get by too…”
